6/23-6/26 International School of Beaverton, Aloha; ages 11-14 9 AM - 3 PM
7/7-7/11 Friendly House Community Center NW Portland; ages 3-5 9 AM - 12 PM, 6-11 9 AM - 3 PM 7/21-7/25 Moore Street Community Center N Portland; ages 6-11 9 AM - 3 PM 7/28-8/1 Portland Children's Museum SW Portland; ages 3-5 9 AM- 12 PM Homowo African Arts & Cultures is back again with summer camp sessions for 2008. The camps introduce young people to a variety of performing arts activities while teaching about the richness of African culture and arts. Classes are led by Homowo performers who share their knowledge of Ghanaian drumming and dance through lively activities. Students will learn to play basic drum rhythms, dance, hear African stories, play traditional games and generally be immersed in African culture for one week.
