Black United Fund of Oregon

The mission of the Black United Fund of Oregon (BUF-OR) is to assist in the social and economic development of Oregon’s underserved communities and to contribute to a broader understanding of ethnic and culturally diverse groups.

Our Three Pillars

BUF-OR is the longest-serving and one of the only BIPOC-led foundations in Oregon, and one of the last culturally-specific organizations remaining on historically-Black NE Alberta Street. For 40 years, our programs have increased post-secondary success for youth and provided philanthropic support to underserved communities.

Post-Secondary Options

We invest in YOUTH through access to training, workshops, podcasts, scholarships, mentorship, career planning, financial literacy, introduction to career pathways and opportunities, and network-building.

Community Justice & Equity

We invest in COMMUNITY JUSTICE & EQUITY by stewarding BIPOC and broader community engagement, hosting networking events, providing technical assistance, and more for emerging Black entrepreneurs and business owners.

Community
Giving

We invest in PHILANTHROPY by providing community-based organizations with low to no cost physical spaces, technical assistance, mentorship, grants for emerging and grassroots BIPOC and/or women-led nonprofits, and more.
